Poetry

If ever there was a poetic fruit, pears are it. Possibly pomegranates, strawberries, peaches, grapes, and certainly mangoes. Well, there goes the plug for my poetic pear.

Famous Hot Fudge Sauce

My sister-in-law and her sister can duke it out on who made this famous sauce famous, but in the mean time, I'm going to call it by the said name above. :)  Thanks girls for this amazing sauce!

1 cube + 1/3 cube butter
3/4 c. sugar (I think the original recipe calls for 1 1/2 c. sugar.  So feel free to add more to taste!)
1/3 c.cocoa
1/2 c. milk
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter in a saucepan.  In a separate bowl, combine sugar and cocoa together.  Mix well.  Over medium-high heat, add sugar mixture to butter. Stir constantly.  As sugar dissolves, add milk slowly.  Stir until hot and sugar is totally dissolved. (If you like thicker sauce, keep cooking for 5-8 minutes.)  Stir in salt and vanilla.  Serve hot with favorite ice cream.
