This is from my little sister Lisa. Thanks Lisa! This is one of my favorite tomato-based pizza sauces. My kids will eat it with their pasta, too.
1 tsp. fennel seed
1/2 onion
2 clove garlic
1 tsp. whole oregano
1 can 15 (oz)Italian stewed tomatoes
Directions
Grind fennel in blender. Add onion and garlic and blend until chopped. Add tomatoes to blender and blend quickly, just enough to shop tomatoes. Add oregano. Simmer on stove until flavors blend (about 1 hour). This recipe is a little of this and a little of that, so add as much ingredients so that it tastes good to you.
I love food! I love sweet pepper sauce and I've always had a love affair with D'anjou Pears. Hence the Blog name. But it could have just as easily been something to do with my other favorite ingredients, like coconut, almonds, nutmeg, sugar peas, mangoes, chocolate, cilantro, tomatoes, olives, pasta... well the list goes on and on.
Poetry
If ever there was a poetic fruit, pears are it. Possibly pomegranates, strawberries, peaches, grapes, and certainly mangoes. Well, there goes the plug for my poetic pear.
