Buttery Biscuits

This is a huge shout-out to Tammy S. for this delicious yeast biscuit.  These biscuits are buttery and yeasty without the wait that normal yeast rolls require.  These are delicious (as most things with a lot of butter are).
1. Mix or sift:
5 c. flour
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 c. sugar
1 tsp baking soda
2. Add:
1 c. shortening
- cut shortening into dry ingredients until pieces are pea-sized
3. Combine: (in a separate bowl)
2 TB. water, lukewarm
1 TB yeast
- proof the yeast in the water until dissolved
4. add:
2 c. buttermilk to the yeast
5. combine:
wet and dry ingredients.Knead a little, roll out and cut into circles.
6. Melt
1/2 c. butter in large cookie sheet. Dip biscuit dough in butter then set in cookie sheet.
7. Bake:
