Elizabeth D. is basically your standard Superwoman extraordinaire! This is her amazing cinnamon roll recipe. It's even lower fat than your basic recipe, because Liz rocks like that.
1 TB yeast
1/4 tsp dried ginger (opt)
1/2 c. water lukewarm
1/2 c. sour cream, low fat
1 c. sugar
2 tsp salt
1 c. hot mashed potatoes (2-3 medium potatoes)
1 c. potato water
1/2 c. milk
4 eggs
6-8 c. flour (til dough is stiff)
brown sugar
white sugar
cinnamon
Dissolve yeast w/ ginger and water for 5 minutes. Add everything else. Let dough rise for an hour or til double. Roll out and sprinkle brown and white sugar and cinnamon. Roll and cut. Place in greased pan. Let rise again til double. Bake for 10-20 minutes. Top with your favorite Cream Cheese frosting recipe. (There's a great on in the Better Homes and Garden cook book)
I love food! I love sweet pepper sauce and I've always had a love affair with D'anjou Pears. Hence the Blog name. But it could have just as easily been something to do with my other favorite ingredients, like coconut, almonds, nutmeg, sugar peas, mangoes, chocolate, cilantro, tomatoes, olives, pasta... well the list goes on and on.
Poetry
If ever there was a poetic fruit, pears are it. Possibly pomegranates, strawberries, peaches, grapes, and certainly mangoes. Well, there goes the plug for my poetic pear.
